"Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that's where the action is. See things from his perspective. (Col. 3:2 MSG)" Reality includes a loving God who is watching you and over you in heaven. When you forget that fact, that's when the problems within your temporal world delude your life. If you don't walk in this truth, it is a symptom of unbelief, and pulls you out of a right relationship with God. Here's a way to determine if your walking in faith or unbelief.
